Another "name that voice." This soprano is heard in "L'altra notte" from Boito's Mefistofele. Can you name her?

    So who is it? My guess is, if it sounds like Scotto is might be Soviero.

    BTW, I think it's a wonderful performance with some very original phrasing - very good breath. The voice also handles the full range that is required. No screams or wobbles.

    It doesn't sound like a native italian speaker to me - wild guess that it is late Leontyne Price - the lower register sounds a lot like Price, as does the very top. There is a little bit of wobble that intrudes now and then. I seem to recall Price doing this aria in a concert that was issued on the Gala label.

    Premiere Opera is a rip-off. I ordered, they took my money and I waited. I inquired where's my order AND WAITED. I wrote and called AND WAITED. I tried to cancel and get a refund. I WAITED. Months later, they FINALLY sent my DVDs. Now I don't need or want them. Others have complained too. This business is unresponsive and needs to be shut down.
